The Grammy-winning singer shared the tour schedule on Instagram, revealing that the global tour will kick off in Paris, France, on October 12 and span 11 countries, including France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the United States, Nigeria and South Africa.
According to the schedule, Tyla will perform in Lagos on December 22, before concluding the tour with shows in Cape Town on January 4 and Johannesburg on January 9.
However, the announcement has triggered mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians expressing excitement about the concert, while others called for a boycott amid concerns over reports of attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.
Some social media users argued that Tyla has not publicly addressed the treatment of Nigerians in her home country, questioning why she should be welcomed to perform in Lagos. Others insisted that music should remain separate from political and social tensions.
